Plantar Fasciitis Relief | PFTape® Mueller Sports Medicine

Plantar fasciitis is extremely common in both athletes and sedentary individuals. In athletes, the development of plantar fasciitis is often associated with a sudden increase in the intensity of training, or with a sudden change in the type of training. However, it’s often classified as an “overuse” injury.

Symptoms
The key symptom of plantar fasciitis is excruciating foot pain in the sole of your foot, underneath the heel. The pain is most intense when you wake up in the morning. While the pain will subside, it usually reemerges after long periods of walking or running. This intractable foot pain can interfere significantly with both sporting activities and your daily activities.

The plantar fascii is a structure that runs along the sole of the foot and acts as a spring to absorb the shock of each step and release it as the foot rebounds off the ground. Individuals afflicted with plantar fasciitis report that it generally goes away — After about six months, on average.

Care
Efforts to bring relief to sufferers of plantar fasciitis include pharmaceutical painkillers, injections of corticosteroids, splints that hold the foot in dorsiflexion during sleep, orthotics, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, and in extreme cases, casts that completely immobilize the foot and surgery. Exercises to stretch and strengthen the foot and ankle are usually prescribed as well. None of these treatments are completely satisfactory.

Innovation
Mueller is pleased to offer thePF Tape System for relief from plantar fasciitis. This tape system is to be applied to the affected foot at home by the sufferer in the evening. It takes the place of bulky night splints to prevent the morning pain of plantar fasciitis. Wear it all night and all day to help support to the plantar fascii and prevent pain while encouraging healing. It’s a non-bulky discrete taped application that can fit inside practically any footwear. It can even replace the uncomfortable orthotics many doctors suggest for treating plantar fasciitis.

Each tape application can be worn for 24 hours before it needs to be replaced. Each package contains a weeks' worth of applications. One size fits all, either left or right foot, without having to trim the application to fit. Anyone can apply to it without assistance.

This tape system helps support to the plantar fascii allowing it to heal while you stay active. You won't have to sit out the competitive season. It instantly relieves pain, and unlike drugs or injections it has no side effects. Unlike many orthotics, it will fit inside your favorite running shoes.
